The Wise Sage Within

Christine Marie Hypnotherapy Tampa FL Inner Resources

Have you ever felt strongly that you just intuitively know something? You don't really know why, but you just have a strong sense about something? It is sometimes called the 6th sense or intuition, but generally, we are never guided to trust or even give such senses any credit and often times it is dismissed.

What if within you was a wonderful, Wise Sage? An inner resource you could rely upon and turn to when needing guidance and direction?

"Come to know the power and authority of your graces with the same precision with which you have come to know your brokenness and pain. -Carolyn Myss"

We easily identify our weaknesses and faults --yet struggle when it comes to identifying our strengths and gifts. Our faults have been well drilled into our psyche.

It is said that 50% of our belief system is developed by the time we are 5 years old. Beliefs create our feelings, and so we can say that by the age of 5, we have established a strong basis of how we feel about ourselves.

Self esteem and self confidence are often sought after through the conscious mind. True self worth is found by uncovering the beliefs and feelings of the subconscious mind. Most people are challenged to know their innate self worth.

Caroline Myss, in her book 'Archetypes Who Are You?' discusses major archetypes including the inner child, the critic and the saboteur. Carl Jung explains archetypes as "Universal patterns of behaviors that once discovered helps people better understand themselves." Most times the inner critic is pretty loud and dominating, always "judging" how we've done or haven't done, assigning a resulting value of worth. The inner child is all too often a very wounded energy.

In hypnotherapy, one goal is to identify a resourceful state. In a resourceful state, you have an inner resource to help change a habit or behavior, get unstuck and most importantly, develop a new way of thinking. This new way of thinking is the path to a new way of feeling. In the Laws of the Mind, emotions will always outweigh logic.

How often have you been able to identify your true, authentic greatness? The Wise Sage within is the knower. It knows who you truly are and your infinite worth. The Wise Sage can guide the inner child and overcome the inner critic, the judger, with the energy of love.

Connecting to your Wise Sage within is a path to loving you. I invite you to discover your Wise Sage within. Three mindful deep breaths, in through your nose expanding your belly out, then exhaling out through your mouth pushing your belly to your back resets your "Chi". Chi, Universal Life Force, God, Source, is whatever you call the energy of oxygen flowing through you giving you life. Close your eyes, take three mindful breaths reminding yourself to connect with your Wise Sage within and discover that the truth of who you are is simply magnificent.

Can Hypnosis Really Help Me Quit Smoking?

Hypnosis and Hypnotherapy Stop Smoking

Can hypnosis really help you quit smoking? The answer is yes it can! However, there are many steps that need to be included in the process. For some it may just be listening to a stop smoking hypnosis CD or attending a group smoking cessation seminar. But often times for most, these tools won't be the end all or be all solution to helping you stop smoking.

Regardless of knowing the health benefits of being smoke free, some seemingly, undermining driving forces still persist, compelling you to smoke. Please stop blaming yourself.  Understand that your subconscious mind is really running the show.

One of the keys to successfully stopping smoking, is to understand the power of your subconscious mind. It is highly probable that this smoking behavior got programmed as a response to a set of circumstances. So believe it or not, smoking has become a coping mechanism of your subconscious mind. Societal and tribal teachings deliver messages such as "Quitting smoking is just a matter of willpower.", or "If you want to quit smoking badly enough, you will just stop." However, there is quite a bit scientific fact disregarded in these statements. This science provides insights into how your mind is operating.  Trying to stop smoking without enlisting the power of the subconscious mind to help you is essentially like trying to swim across the Gulf of Mexico.

Truthfully, willpower is no match for your subconscious mind.

Willpower is a product of the conscious mind.  You may have heard that we only use about 10% of our brains.  That statement is actually only partially true.  It is your conscious mind that runs that 10% of your life. Its the area of the brain that science refers to as the neocortex or the frontal lobe.  It is the area of the brain that organizes and is logical.   This is the area of the brain that has the "brains" to acknowledge and tell you "hey maybe we ought to stop this behavior, it's hurting and destructive." So every bit of "intention" is put forth to change this habit.

Now let's look at the subconscious mind. This part of the brain is referred to as the limbic brain. The limbic brain, or the subconscious mind, runs the other 90%  of the show.  It handles all the behind the scenes activities, like all of your bodily functions. For the most part, you do not have to pay attention to making your heart beat, your eyes blink, your cells divide or your lungs to breathe. These functions happen "automatically".  The subconscious mind learned how to do these functions and they became part of a subconscious activity.

Next understand that the subconscious mind is considered to be your "emotional mind". The laws of the mind state "the strongest emotion will always win." Behaviors are actually learned and they are part of the subconscious mind. The subconscious mind is where you store your memories.  Often times, behaviors can be maladaptive, in that they were acquired as a learned response to external circumstances. The subconscious mind created a "feeling" that smoking made you feel better. If the strongest emotion will always win, and you haven't learned new ways to feel better, or you haven't reprogrammed your subconscious mind to feel differently about smoking, than using just your conscious mind to fight your subconscious beliefs to quit smoking is like asking a kitten to fight a lion and win.

Hypnosis is only one tool I employ when coaching someone to stop smoking. Using hypnotherapy and NLP techniques together, help you access your subconscious mind. When these tools are carefully combined with very proven stop smoking protocols, they create the empowerment you need from your subconscious mind help you quit smoking.

How Hypnotherapy can Help Heal Grief

Grief and Loss Peace and Grace

Grief. It's a unique experience and is not a process we willingly enter into -yet once in grief, finding the way back can be overwhelming and seemingly impossible.

Having experienced the passing of my 23 year old son, I am well familiar with the path of grief. Truthfully, I know I will live the remainder of my life with a hole in my heart. A place that aches to see my boy and hug him - but much of what I've learned about grief is that my experience is more about how I chose to respond to my thoughts not what actually is truth.

I have learned that the keys to relieving my grief were truly locked away in uncovering the beliefs I held about death. Our belief systems control so much of how we respond and manage life in every experience. Our beliefs can be empowering or they can be destructive and debilitating. Understanding what I believed to be true about death was a truly an enlightening process freeing me from a lifeless path.

Here is where I will get personal - I realized that I could believe death was final or I could believe death was a re-birth. I love quoting Terri Daniels. "When someone says a parent should never lose a child, she says who says?"

The truth is our beliefs truly can create our own personal hell. Our beliefs are a compilation of all of our experiences, what we not only learned but what we have held onto sticking to our conclusions. Our beliefs run in the background - like programs of an operating system running a computer.

The tools we have in hypnotherapy that help us deal with grief include uncovering the underlying, low level beliefs occurring in the subconscious mind. When we uncover these beliefs, it helps us to be able to shift just a bit, moving us one step towards peace. We also have the sacred tools of transpersonal hypnotherapy that can aid in receiving some closure on any lingering matters.

If It doesn't seem possible that you will ever feel again. I can tell you one of my saving graces was reading and listening to books about death, dying and the after life. It helped me to form new beliefs and open my mind to newer ideas and other possibilities. Surviving the death of our loved ones is a daily process.

I believe my son would never be happy wherever he is if he felt or knew I was living a joyless life because of his passing. Intuitively I knew I needed to truly celebrate his life by honoring that his time came. I respect the Divine Plan even in grief. Because of some of the personal work I've done with hypnotherapy, I can no longer believe the old outdated beliefs. I know that for this moment only I have the choice in my mind to live in grief or in grace.

I wish you the true grace of peace and comfort in your journey.

Hypnotherapy and Healing Grief

Past Life Regression – Real or Imagination

Tampa Hypnotherapy and Past Life Regression Work

Today, Past Life Regression has been popularized by many including well known names such as Brian L Weiss, a board certified Psychiatrist, the late Delores Cannon, a true pioneer in the field of hypnotherapy and past life regression, and the possibly lesser known Michael Newton. These pioneers are just a few of those individuals who have dedicated thousands and thousands of hours working on answering the question "Is this life all there is, or are we spiritual beings returning to learn lessons, teach lessons and to ultimately grow as energetic beings?"

I first came across this work about six months after my son's passing. Someone recommended I read "Many Lives Many Masters" by Brian L. Weiss. Thank you Karen B. It is an incredible book which provided me much healing for my grief, and it started me on my path to becoming a hypnotherapist.

Michael Newton documented over 7000 Past Life Regression and Life Between Life cases, privately building research on this subject matter. Having read his materials and other less known authors including those who have also documented additional materials regarding Newton's work, has further opened my mind to the belief that our lives here are planned. Wait!!! What??? How could I have ever agreed to my son passing before me? It would go against every belief system I know - my tribe's, my community - everyone I knew. Why would I have agreed to such terms?

What I've come to understand studying this work is that there are so many hidden treasures in what I don't know --and I can only imagine what I don't know. Many who know me know my favorite saying is "I don't know what I don't know until I know I didn't know it." I have realized our beliefs are responsible for all the possible possibilities, as it is only through belief that makes the possible possible or impossible.

So beginning with an open, curious mind, and an open heart, I've embarked on several journeys into the past trying to understand why I am here, why have I chosen the life I am currently living including my parents, financial status, abilities, my body type (really?), my close friends and confidants, and more specifically, why would I have chosen to experience the passing of a child? In the most simple form, I understand that I have chosen to learn certain life lessons, such as unconditional love.

By grace, I have had the opportunity to experience my son on a different level - a spirit level, --forever changing how I can look at grief and his passing. I have had the opportunity to explore some past lives that amazingly have similar threads of circumstances shedding light on some of my more difficult current life lessons.

One of the most amazing experiences with past life regression work has been as a facilitator. I've seen root causes directly related to phobias be completely and undeniably exposed. I've seen my clients achieve some sense out of what would without this experience seem illogical or senseless. I've seen my clients experience a break-through and gain a deep understanding of current life situations simply by exploring a past life as well as to have the opportunity to release any karma that was resulting from a past life effecting their current life today.

These personal experiences, combined with witnessing the experiences of my clients has evidenced to me that when facilitated correctly with a skilled hypnotherapist along with the openness of the individual, Past Life Regression produces valuable information and possibly a life-changing experience.

While it may initially appear something to fear, or more fantasy than fact, I believe the work of those pioneering this field have been truly called to this work. It's objective is to bring more light into the lives of individuals. Through the expansions of our thoughts and beliefs and the expansion of our understanding and awareness, we allow more light into our lives. Past Life Regression work, when facilitated in a personal session with a well-trained facilitator, can provide peace in the struggle, hope for the hopeless, and light in the dark.

I leave you with a poem I wrote shortly after my son passed. I woke up one morning and I was urged by his voice -mom write this down -- and so I did.
